Epoxy resins bond, insulate and encapsulate: printed circuit boards, anti-corrosion coatings, composite matrices. They rest on bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin, hence on chlorine. China has become the world's leading production base (nearly two-thirds of Asia-Pacific demand), to the point that Olin and Westlake filed an anti-dumping complaint in 2024. The high-thermal-resistance aerospace grades, however, remain a rare Western and Japanese know-how.
