Every HBM stack sold passes through a tester, and the three manufacturers rely heavily on the same Advantest systems. Testing has become proportionally longer and costlier with each generation, HBM4 is tested stacked, at high temperature: test capacity is a silent bottleneck, less visible than lithography but just as concentrated.
