Namibia ≈3rd global uranium producer (≈11%); Husab controlled by CGN (China)

The Namib Desert supplies about a tenth of the world's uranium, via two giant open-pit mines. But the largest, Husab, belongs to China's CGN, and Rössing has passed under the control of China Uranium: Beijing has thus secured a major fuel source far from its borders. The upstream of Western nuclear power here borders a discreet but entrenched Chinese dependence.
