China produces nearly 80% of the world's vitamins (against ≈8% for the EU) and holds more than 80% of supply for several B vitamins, C and biotin, close to 100% for the latter. Without these micro-inputs, industrial animal feed grinds to a halt within weeks. No significant Western substitution capacity exists in the short term.
