A single Chinese state industrial group supplies about seven of every ten ship-to-shore gantries installed worldwide, present in more than a hundred countries. Washington has opened investigations into embedded sensors and modems and now imposes prohibitive tariffs, but the alternatives (Konecranes, Liebherr, Mitsui) represent only a fraction of capacity.
