OCP, Khouribga (Morocco)

Morocco holds about two-thirds of the world's phosphate reserves, a non-substitutable resource with no large-scale recycling; Khouribga alone concentrates ≈43% of the OCP group's reserves. Current production is still dominated by China, but the reserve horizon makes the kingdom the long-term arbiter of global agricultural phosphorus. Part of the deposits lie in Western Sahara, a territory of contested status.
