Soybean complex, Gran Rosario (Argentina)

Along 70 km of the Paraná lies the largest soybean-crushing hub in the world: Argentina turns the bean there into meal and oil, of which it is the leading world exporter. A rare Latin American example of added value retained on site, but hanging on a river whose low water blocks ships, and on a chronically unstable macroeconomy. The processing stays here; the fragility is financial and hydrological.
